Nancy O'Dell's professional career started in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and news reporter with WPDE-TV. Later, she was morning news anchor for WCBD TV and acted as the crime reporter. The stories she reported in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance when it comes to DUI cases prompted a State Law Enforcement Division to look into the matter. This led to states authorities enforcing more rigorous guidelines in these cases.
